How seeing a clinical psychologist can help
Seeing a psychologist can help with the relationships with ourselves, our family and our larger systems can all impact one another. Often, people manage to develop healthy and appropriate coping strategies when they are faced with difficulties. However, at times, due to distress or unresolved trauma, people find themselves unable to draw upon these effective coping strategies, often leading to poor mental health outcomes. This is where the support and expertise of a psychologist can really help.
As a clinical Psychologist, I believe that relationships, be it with self, or others, is the ultimate healer. Therapy and psychology can assist you to develop healthier and more effective interpersonal styles and to learn to draw upon more effective coping strategies, regardless of the difficulties that you are experiencing. This is done through a healthy therapeutic relationship in therapy.
If you feel that you want to get help through therapy and seeing a psychologist, please contact me to set up an appointment to see how I can help you thrive.
Approach
I work from an integrative, interactional approach which draws from several areas such as Interactional Pattern Analysis, Systems Theory and Cybernetics, Family Systems Theory, Humanistic and Person-Centred Psychology, Behaviourism and CBT, as well as Neurological Brain-Based tools to provide a bespoke therapeutic intervention which is based on your own unique needs in therapy.
As your psychologist, I will regularly discuss your therapeutic goals, and help you identify your own needs. You will always be the co-driver on the journey, working with me to unpack your difficulties, and generate more effective interactional styles and coping tools.
Both online and face to face psychology sessions are available. Face to face sessions are held in Salisbury town centre and online psychology sessions are either held from my town centre office or my home office.
